Mustard Oil Plum Cake with Spiced Nuts

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Netaji mustard oil

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup chopped dried fruits (plums, raisins, apricots)

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs (or ½ cup yogurt)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp nutmeg

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • ¼ cup orange juice

Method

  1. SWhisk mustard oil and sugar until creamy.

  2. Add eggs/yogurt and vanilla.

  3. Mix flour, spices, and baking powder.

  4. Fold dry ingredients into the wet mix.

  5. Stir in dried fruits and orange juice.

  6. Bake at 170°C for 35–40 minutes.

Christmas Vegetable Stir-Fry with Mustard Oil

A colorful side dish for festive dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Netaji mustard oil

  • 1 cup broccoli

  • 1 cup bell peppers

  • 1 cup carrots

  • ½ cup beans

  • ½ tsp mustard seeds

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Method

  1. Heat mustard oil till hot and fragrant.

  2. Add mustard seeds, then vegetables.

  3. Stir-fry on high heat for 5–7 minutes.

  4. Add honey, lemon juice, pepper, and salt.

  5. Serve warm.

Mustard-Herb Potato Salad (Cold Christmas Side)

Ingredients

  • 500g boiled potatoes

  • 2 tbsp mustard oil

  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds

  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley/coriander

  • ½ tsp crushed garlic

  • Salt & pepper

  • 1 tsp vinegar

Method

  1. Heat mustard oil; add mustard seeds until they splutter.

  2. Toss potatoes with herbs, garlic, vinegar, salt, and pepper.

  3. Serve chilled or warm.
